An Amber Alert was sent out for Eleia Maria Torres at around 4:30 p.m. on Friday after the baby’s mother and another woman with her were found dead.

The infant’s 5-year-old sister was also found badly injured in Ned Houk Park as well.

The Clovis Police Department said that the 10-month-old was discovered thanks to “a collaborated law enforcement effort.”

“Through a collaborated law enforcement effort, 10-month-old Eleia Maria Torres has been located and a suspect has been taken into custody,” the department said. “Baby Eleia has been taken to a local area hospital as a precautionary measure. The Clovis Police Department would like to thank all agencies involved in this investigation that worked tirelessly to reach this conclusion.”

Eleia’s specific location and state of health were not disclosed by the police. However, they did say that she was brought to a nearby hospital only “as a precautionary measure.”

An unidentified suspect has now been detained in relation to the kidnapping. Previously, the Clovis Police Department stated that they believed Eleia had been kidnapped by the same individual who murdered the women and assaulted the five-year-old.

“We will release more details at a later time,” the department said.

The Clovis Police Department issued the amber alert after a 9-1-1 call indicted that someone had discovered two deceased women at New Mexico’s Ned Houk Park.

Clovis police also posted a statement on Facebook, explaining that they discovered the women’s bodies on the ground “close to a silver Dodge minivan” and it looked as if they had been fatally shot.

Additionally, the 5-year-old sister was discovered with a gunshot wound to her head, and was immediately transported to a local hospital, as stated in reports from Clovis police. Similarly to the infant, police did not give specifics regarding where they found the 5-year-old, but they did say she was “nearby.”

The authorities identified the two deceased women as Taryn Allen and Samantha Cisneros. Cisneros is the mother of both children. The two deceased women were reportedly from Texico, New Mexico, and were both 23-years-old.

It is unclear what the injured 5-year-old’s condition is currently.
