On Monday, Nov. 6, Tlaib responded to criticisms from fellow Democrats regarding a video she posted Friday, Nov. 3, that included a clip of demonstrators chanting “from the river to the sea.” Tlaib said in her response that her “colleagues” are trying to silence her and are “distorting her words.” (AP Photo/Amanda Andrade-Rhoades, File)

Representative Rashida Tlaib is reportedly a member of a private, hidden Facebook group in which users glorify the Islamic terrorist group Hamas, who initiated a deadly attack on Israel on October 7th that left more than a thousand dead and hundreds of abducted hostages in captivity.

Tlaib (D-Mich.) is a member of the “Palestinian American Congress” group on the social media platform Meta (Facebook). The group is hidden from un-invited users and is not visible on the platform’s search bar.

Social posts in the group are extremely anti-Semitic in nature. The founder of the group, Maher Abdel-qader, even claimed that Israelis are “not real Jews” and he questioned if the Holocaust actually occurred or if there was a deeper agenda at hand.

Abdel-qader is known to have been linked to Tlaib and has extensive ties with several other left-wing politicians.

Tlaib, who claims that she is trying to bring “peace” after Hamas’ October 7th attacks against Israel, became a member of the “Palestinian American Congress” Facebook group six years ago.

The group shares social media posts that portray propaganda images of Hamas fighters, whom many of the group’s members refer to as “freedom fighters.”

“We don’t want to throw you in the sea…we want you to ride it back from where you came,” one member of the Facebook group, named Nader Abou, wrote in a post on October 12th, sharing an image of a Hamas terrorist with an elderly Israeli woman held hostage.

“Since yesterday I have been attached to the TV watching the news,” one group member shared on October 10th, referring to the “American Media” and claiming, “You, and the people directing you, are the problem, you created it almost 100 years ago, made it official 75 years ago and you have been feeding its flam ever since. You consider Hamas a terrorist organization and I am not going to argue with you at the same time you have been broadcasting that they have been killing women and children, guess that is what terrorists do at the same time no mention to the killing of Palestinian women, children and entire families killed on a daily basis (sic) by the [peace-loving] state of Israel using American gifts of weapons and jet fighters.”

“Yesterday I didn’t see Hamas. I saw the grand kids (sic) of the refugees that were ethnically cleansed from their homeland attacking the grand kids (sic) of the colonists whom sent them to diaspora,” they later added.

Tlaib remains the only Palestinian American in Congress and has faced much scrutiny regarding her comments after the October 7th attacks initiated by Hamas.

Last week, in a formal public rebuke of her most recent anti-Israel comments made in the rise of the Jewish state’s retaliation against the group, the House of Representatives voted 234 to 188 to censure her.

Additionally, Tlaib has a lengthy history alongside Abdel-qader, in which they have participated in many fundraising events together and appeared in pictures together on social media.

Abdel-qader has consistently glamorized anti-Semitic conspiracy theories over the years and even shared a video that called Jews “satanic,” questioning whether 6 million of them had actually been killed in the Holocaust.
