Trump’s attorneys started calling witnesses to the stand of Monday. The first witness was Donald Trump Jr.

New York Attorney General Letitia James, who was seen smiling in the court room, rested her case last week.

She is accusing Trump and his organization of inflating assets in order to get better loans and insurance policies.

James is seeking $250 million and wants to bar the Trump’s from doing business in the Empire State.

“This is a scam. And this is a case that should have never been brought and it’s a case that should now be dismissed,” the former president said. “The fraud was in the hands of the court. The court was the fraudster in this case. They made references to assets that were very valuable. And they said they had no idea. They had no idea what the numbers were.”

Trump’s legal team has denied any wrongdoing, saying that the state failed to prove allegations of fraud.

They face an uphill battle, as the judge has already found the Trump Organization liable of fraud before the trial began.
