BE'ERI, ISRAEL - OCTOBER 14: Israeli soldiers inspect houses that were destroyed in a battle between Israeli soldiers and Palestinian militants on Saturday's Hamas attack on the kibbutz on on October 14, 2023 in Be'eri, Israel. Israel has sealed off Gaza and launched sustained retaliatory air strikes, which have killed at least 1,400 people with more than 400,000 displaced, after a large-scale attack by Hamas. On October 7, the Palestinian militant group Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel from Gaza by land, sea, and air, killing over 1,300 people and wounding around 2,800. According to multiple reports, Israel has been checking to confirm if Hamas’ second-highest ranking military leader died in an airstrike on Monday.

If the death is confirmed, Marwan Issa would be the highest-ranking official killed in the Hamas terrorist organization, as the five-month war continues on. It has resulted in thousands of lives being taken.

According to Israeli Army radio, Israel bombed the Al-Nusseirat camp on Saturday after receiving intelligence about the location of Issa, who is second in command of Hamas’ military wing, the Izz el-Deen al-Qassam Brigades.

The report stated the attack killed five people.

Additionally, Issa is at the top of Israel’s most wanted list, along with military wing head Mohammed Deif and Hamas’ Gaza leader Yahya Sinwar, who are believed to be the ones behind the October 7th terrorist attack against Israel.

The horrific day involved Hamas terrorists killing 1,200 people in a surprise attack on Israel and took 253 hostages, according to Israel. Since Israel declared war on Hamas, the war now has taken over 31,000 Palestinian lives, according to Gaza officials.

Furthermore, if Issa’s death is confirmed, it could make it extremely difficult to call for a cease-fire between the two sides. However, Israel recently said that talks are ongoing through Egyptian and Qatari mediators.

Meanwhile, Hamas blames Israel for refusing to give guarantees to end the war. Israel has recently called for a temporary ceasefire to allow hostages to be exchanged, but has said they will not stop its war until it has wiped out Hamas.
