Manchin (D-W.Va), delivered the news in a speech at West Virginia University in Morgantown on Friday.

“I will not be seeking a third-party run. I will not be involved in a presidential run,” he said.

“I will be involved in making sure that we secure a president that has the knowledge and has the passion and has the ability to bring this country together,” Manchin continued.

Previously, the senator announced that he would not make a decision on running this election until after Super Tuesday on March 5th.

This news comes a day after Manchin stated that in a hypothetical run, he would choose Senator Mitt Romney (R-Utah) or former senator Rob Portman (R-Ohio) to be his running mate.
