Senator Ben Cardin has spoken out about the now infamous, lewd act his staffer preformed and filmed in a Senate hearing room.

Cardin (D-Md.) announced that he first learned about the video over the weekend. He immediately fired his staffer, Aidan Maese-Czeropski, after the video surfaced.

“I was angry. I was disappointed,” Cardin told Fox News. “It’s a breach of trust.”

“It’s a tragic situation and it’s presented a lot of anger and frustration,” he continued. “I’m concerned about our staff and the way that they feel about this and the Senate staff.”

The scandal first broke out on Friday, when the Daily Caller posted the video to its platform. The video showed 24-year-old Maese-Czeropski engaging in sexual acts with another male in a historic Senate hearing room.

The sexual activity supposedly occurred in the same chamber where senators typically question Supreme Court nominees and where former FBI director James Comey previously testified regarding alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election, which has now been proven false by the DOJ.

Maese-Czeropski is a big face among Democrats, as he has appeared in many campaign promotions for liberal candidates. His most notable profile campaign video featured current President Joe Biden back in 2020.

The Senate sex tape was recorded last week.

It is not clear at what time of night the room was used, or if Maese-Czeropski entered the room during official Senate business.

U.S. Capitol Police are currently conducting a “thorough investigation” into the incident.
