A California woman was found dead in an alley in Laguna beach just steps away from her place of work.

On Tuesday, the Laguna Beach Police Department announced that a construction worker found the body of Tatum Goodwin “down in a secluded location” near the 200 block of Ocean Avenue in Laguna Beach around 8:20 a.m. PT Sunday.
Laguna Beach Police Chief Jeff Calvert said that they found the crime scene to be “suspicious” and they are working to bring justice to the victim’s family.
“We are saddened by this senseless act of violence. Our detectives are working diligently to bring the suspect(s) to justice,” Calvert said.
Goodwin had worked as an assistant manager at Carmelita’s restaurant in Laguna Beach for more than 4 years. Carmelita’s owner Marcos Heredia spoke to the press about the tragedy and how it has affected their whole team.
“She definitely did not deserve this, just a beautiful person,” Heredia said. “It’s affected not only me. It’s affected so much of our team.”
Heredia has launched a GoFundMe page to help Goodwin’s family pay for her funeral and also to commission a mural “so everyone in town never forgets about our sweet friend Tatum,” he wrote.
Goodwin’s body is still being investigated by police and a memorial will be held on Wednesday.
