Voters have decided that Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear will be their Governor for another four years.

Beshear (D-Ky.) won re-election to a second term Tuesday, which secures another significant victory for Democrats across the Bluegrass State.
“Tonight, Kentucky made a choice, a choice not to move to the right or to the left but to move forward for every single family,” Beshear told a raucous crowd of supporters in Louisville.
Beshear beat out Donald Trump endorsed Republican state Attorney General Daniel Cameron (R-Ky.).
If elected, Cameron would’ve become the state’s first Black governor and first Black Republican governor in the United States since the Reconstruction era.
The runner up called Beshear to congratulate his former law colleague on the victory.
“We all want the same thing for our future generations,” Cameron said in his concession speech. “We want a better commonwealth, one in which it can ultimately be a shining city on a hill, a model and example for the rest of the nation to follow.”
The race was closely followed as issues such as abortion access, the economy and culture war topics dominated the race.
Throughout the race, the governor had to battle against accusations of linking him to President Joe Biden’s policies. Beshear’s campaign was focused on state issues, pushing exceptions to Kentucky’s current abortion ban.
After securing the victory, Beshear said it “sends a loud, clear message — a message that candidates should run for something and not against someone. That a candidate should show vision and not sow division. And a clear statement that anger politics should end right here and right now.”
Meanwhile, Republicans hold supermajorities in both chambers of the legislature and currently hold both U.S. Senate seats.
Additionally, Republicans in the state swept all other statewide constitutional offices on the ballot.
