The Powerball jackpot climbed to an eye-opening estimated $1.73 billion after no winner came forward on Monday.

The winning numbers were 16, 34, 46, 55, 67 and the red Powerball of 14.
With no winner on Monday, that makes it 35 consecutive drawings since the last time someone won the top prize back on July 19th. The latest drawing trails the record of 41 draws that was set in 2021 and 2022.
The largest jackpot ever was set at $2.04 billion when the Powerball prize was won by a player in California in November 2022. However, another man claimed in a lawsuit that he had purchased that winning ticket, which was stolen from him.
If a winner is called on Wednesday, it would be the second-largest jackpot in the history of the Powerball game.
The chances of hitting all six numbers are 1 in 292.2 million. Powerball is available in 45 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The $1.73 billion prize is for a sole winner who is paid through annuity, with the choice of annual checks over 30 years or taking a lump sum, which for the next drawing Wednesday would be an estimated $756.6 million.
Lottery officials have urged players to not go overboard with playing.
“Playing Powerball or any game offered by the California Lottery is meant to be fun — a simple and enjoyable way to support a great cause,” California Lottery spokesperson Carolyn Becker said in a statement. “Players should not spend above their budget or borrow money to play.”
