McCarthy Endorsed Biden Impeachment Inquiry

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., is asking the House of Representatives to move forward on an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden based what Republicans have characterized as Biden family influence peddling.

“I’m directing our House committee to open a formal impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden,” McCarthy said Tuesday. “This is the logical next step that will give our committees the full power to gather all the facts and answers for the American public.”

The House Oversight and Accountability Committee has obtained bank records that show the Biden family raked in at least $20 million from foreign individuals and entities from Biden’s time as vice president under President Barack Obama.

Much of this came from Hunter Biden’s foreign business operations in China, Ukraine, Romania and other countries. But the committee has found that at least nine members of the Biden family have received payments.

In July Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, released an FD-1023 form from the FBI showing that a confidential informant told the bureau that an executive with Burisma, a Ukrainian energy firm, paid a $5 million bribe to Biden while he was vice president to affect U.S. policy to benefit the company.
