According to the Secret Service, marijuana has been found twice in the White House long before the discovery of the cocaine.

Speaking with The Washington Post, a spokesman said that marijuana was found “on two occasions in 2022” although no arrest was made because the amounts which were found “did not meet the legal threshold for federal charges or DC misdemeanor criminal charges.”

“Per the Secret Service Uniformed Division, small amounts of marijuana were found on two occasions in 2022 (June and September), at a check point,” the spokesman said in a statement. “No one was arrested in these incidents because the weight of the marijuana confiscated did not meet the legal threshold for federal charges or DC misdemeanor criminal charges as the District of Columbia had decriminalized possession. The marijuana was collected by officers and destroyed.”

Representative Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) questioned the quality of the people that are allowed into the White House when drugs have been found three times on the property so far.

“In 2022, twice while going through screening, people were caught with marijuana in their possession,” she said. “So for this being the third time that drugs were found on the White House property during the Biden administration certainly poses a question: What kind of people are we allowing to go onto that premise? And what is their actual purpose there?”

The Secret Service also recently concluded its investigation into the recently discovered cocaine after 11 days and said that they could not find any culprit. The service announced in a statement that the investigation ended “due to a lack of physical evidence.”

“Without physical evidence, the investigation will not be able to single out a person of interest from the hundreds of individuals who passed through the vestibule where the cocaine was discovered,” the Secret Service said.

Republicans, along with most of the public, were skeptical of the investigation and the results.

“It seems to me that Biden Inc. strikes again,” House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said. “How can in the White House — 24/7 security — they find cocaine but now they just closed the investigation. Where in the country do you get treated like this? Only with the Bidens, with the Bidens in charge. There is no equal justice.”

The use, sale and possession of marijuana remains illegal under federal law, which covers the White House and federal property.
