House Republicans failed in their effort to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.<\/p>\n
The vote was 214 for impeachment and 216 against.<\/p>\n
Republican Reps. Blake Moore of Utah, Mike Gallagher of Wisconsin, Tom McClintock of California, and Ken Buck<\/a> of Colorado voted with Democrats, according to The Washington Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n BREAKING: The vote to impeach DHS Secretary Mayorkas fails thanks to 4 Republican defections:<\/p>\n Rep. In effect, they stretch and distort the Constitution.\u201d<\/p>\n Do Republicans have a backbone?<\/p>\n \nYes: 6% (13 Votes)\n<\/p>\n \nNo: 94% (212 Votes)\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Buck also said impeachment was not justified.<\/p>\n \u201cThe failure of the Biden administration to rein in an open border is a national disgrace and will be a stain on his presidential legacy. However, the truth is that this is a policy disagreement masked as an impeachment,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n
