On Social Media, Biden Ignores Death of Navy SEALs

It’s not necessarily what President Joe Biden said on social media this week; it’s what he didn’t say that is telling.

On Monday, the American people were informed that two Navy SEALs lost their lives in service to our country. Photos of Navy SEALs Christopher J. Chambers and Nathan Gage Ingram were shared hundreds of thousands of times on X by Americans who called the men “heroes” and thanked them for their service.

But the commander-in-chief of America’s armed forces was silent about deaths of the two SEALs on America’s modern public square X, formerly Twitter.

Instead of acknowledging the tragic loss of two Navy SEALs, the president posted in support of abortion on X eight times on his personal account and seven times on his presidential account between Monday and Tuesday.

Instead of honoring the sacrifice of Chambers and Ingram, Biden (or his social media team) was busy telling Americans he will “continue to fight to protect a woman’s freedom to choose” and claiming that “MAGA Republicans” are “going even further to undermine women’s rights.”

Biden’s pro-abortion rhetoric comes during Vice President Kamala Harris’ “Fight for Reproductive Freedoms” tour.

Biden did issue a statement on the White House website Monday on the death of SEALs, saying he and the first lady are “mourning the tragic deaths of two of America’s finest—Navy SEALs who were lost at sea while executing a mission off the coast of East Africa last week.”

Biden ended his statement saying, “We will never fail to honor their service, their legacy, and their sacrifice.”

The tragic loss of the SEALs is reported to have occurred on a mission off the coast of Somalia. The men were boarding a ship bound for Yemen that was carrying illicit Iranian-made weapons. One of the men slipped and fell into the waves and the other jumped in to try to save him. Both SEALs are presumed to have drowned.

Biden’s failure to acknowledge the tragedy on X, or any other social media platform for that matter, is telling of the president’s priorities.

On Wednesday, The Heritage Foundation launched the 2024 Index of U.S. Military Strength. The index is the only annual nongovernmental assessment of America’s military capabilities.

On a scale of five from “Very Weak” to “Very Strong,” America’s military ranks second from the lowest possible ranking at “Weak.”

Given that Russia and China are both ranked as having “formidable” threat capabilities against the U.S., it would appear to be in the president’s best interest to replace one or two of his posts about why women “need” abortion, and instead elevate the importance of our military and recognize the courage of the SEALs who just made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

On today’s edition of the “Problematic Women” podcast, we discuss Biden’s abysmal response to the death of the two Navy SEALs and the state of America’s military readiness.

Also on today’s show, we are celebrate National School Choice Week. Plus, we discuss new data on the productivity of working from home compared with in the office. And as always, we crown our “Problematic Woman of the Week.”
