Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) recently came down on AIPAC, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, accusing the group of being an “extremist organization” that “destabilizes” American democracy.

On Tuesday evening, Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) denounced AIPAC in a post shared to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

AOC claimed that the pro-Israel group is “racist” and “bigoted” in regards to legislators of color. She also accused AIPAC of being an “extremist” group that “destabilizes” United States democracy.

“AIPAC endorsed scores of Jan 6th insurrectionists,” the New York representative said. “They are no friend to American democracy. They are one of the more racist and bigoted PACs in Congress as well, who disproportionately target members of color. They are an extremist organization that destabilizes U.S. democracy.”

In response to AOC, AIPAC blasted the New York congresswoman on Wednesday over her “same tired lies and spin.”

“Ocasio-Cortez and the Squad summed up: People who disagree with us are racist,” AIPAC posted. “AIPAC stands with pro-Israel Democrats and Republicans of all races, genders, and backgrounds who support the US-Israel alliance. And we oppose those who don’t, like you.”

According to AIPAC’s official website, the organization’s goal is to gather “Democrats and Republicans to advance our shared mission” of enhancing standards that strengthen the U.S.-Israel relations.

“Building bipartisan support for the U.S.-Israel relationship is an American value we are proud to champion,” the website states.

AIPAC’s most prominent mission is to “strengthen America’s connection with Israel by creating a mutually beneficial relationship.”

“Saving lives and advancing American interests and values, helping to protect our troops, strengthening our economy, and addressing 21st century challenges,” AIPAC stated.

AOC’s social media post was a reaction to an initial post from AIPAC that condemned members of the “Squad” for voting against the House resolution standing with Israel in their battle against Hamas.

AOC is a member of the “Squad.”

Other members include Summer Lee (D-Pa.), Greg Casar (D-Texas), Cori Bush (D-Mo.), Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.), Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) and Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.). They have all been vocal critics of Israel during the war against Hamas terrorists who initiated the conflict with their October 7th unprecedented attack on Israeli civilians.

AOC is not the only “Squad” member that has criticized AIPAC.

In August, Representative Omar also condemned the organization, claiming that it is a “right-wing super PAC” funded by “dark money.” However, AIPAC works with congress members from both parties.

“THIS IS URGENT,” an Omar campaign advertisement stated. “A right-wing Super PAC funded by millions of dollars in Dark Money spending is working around the clock to unseat Ilhan from Congress in 2024.”

AIPAC, which was founded in 1963, has over 100,000 members and 17 regional offices throughout the U.S., along with its headquarters located in Washington, D.C.

The organization works with both Israel and America. AIPAC President Michael Tuchin traveled to the Jewish State along with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) in August.

While they were there, the two also met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in order to discuss the importance of Israel and America’s relationship.
