U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that the United States has resumed airstrikes against Iran, acting on orders from President Donald Trump.
On Wednesday, CENTCOM posted from its official X account that the fresh strikes are intended to degrade Iran’s “ability to threaten freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.”
“The United States is holding Iran accountable for recent unjustified aggression against commercial shipping and civilian crews freely navigating a vital international waterway.”
This comes a day after CENTCOM announced that it conducted a series of retaliatory military strikes against Iran in response to the Iranian missile attacks on three merchant ships that were transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
