Vice President JD Vance has defended the memorandum of understanding (MOU) to end the war in Iran, saying it’ll be good for world peace.

During a press conference on Thursday, Vance said the deal does everything President Donald Trump wants: Prohibiting Iran from making nuclear weapons and opening the Strait of Hormuz.

He stressed there are handicaps to Iran’s ability to defend itself, restricting the country to only using ballistic missiles and non-nuclear weapons to do so.

Vance went on to assert that if Iran wants any of its money unfrozen, it’ll have to dramatically change its behavior and work toward being a positive influence with the Middle East.

Vance further warned that Iran will have to show up and keep its end of the agreement if it wants to experience the benefits of it.

When asked by One America News Chief White House Correspondent Daniel Baldwin whether he believes the current Iranian leadership recognizes the economic and military leverage the United States holds over Iran enough to fundamentally change its behavior over the long term, Vance said he believes Iranian leaders recognize the leverage the U.S. brings to the negotiating table.
