The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has partnered with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) to put 300 federal agents through hand-to-hand combat training ahead of UFC Freedom 250.

On Wednesday, just days ahead of Sunday’s highly anticipated UFC fight on the South Lawn of the White House to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, FBI Director Kash Patel posted a video of agents training UFC-style.

“Thanks to the great partnership with UFC, we’ve seen about 300 agents come through and learn amazing tactics so they can safeguard American lives,” Patel said.

“Put the best athletes in the world with the best law enforcement agency in the world and it’s a great combination,” he added.

The wrestling event over the weekend also marks Flag Day, celebrating the 249th anniversary of the adoption of the American Flag and President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday.

The Octagon can already be seen on the South Lawn beneath the massive red, white and blue structure known as “The Claw.

Fighters are expected to use the Eisenhower Executive Office Building as locker rooms during the seven bout event.

The UFC also released the costume designs for its Octagon girls this week, featuring patriotic stars and stripes. They will also be seen on Saturday at the ceremonial weigh-in at The Ellipse, a public park near the White House.

The weekend event is only the most recent in a host of Semiquincentennial celebrations. Freedom 250 has also organized the 16-day Great American State Fair to take place on the National Mall later this month.
