Ohio has become the latest state to send National Guard troops to the southern border. Republican Gov. Mike Dewine (R-Ohio) announced on Friday his authorization of 185 National Guard troops to join the roughly 3,000 members from other states sent to help Custom and Border Patrol agents with the migrant crisis at the border.
Multiple Republican governors have sent members of the National Guard to the southern border to help ease tensions they say the Biden administration has failed to address. GOP lawmakers have argued the border has become a national security crisis, which has continued to negatively impact the American people.

President Trump has slammed Joe Biden for halting his successful efforts, such as the border wall construction, to eliminate the immigration crisis. The 45th president argued without Biden’s interruptions, the border would have become the strongest it has ever been against illegal immigration.
Dewine’s authorization comes day after Gov. Kristi Noem’s (R- S.D.) announcement to deploy National Guard troops to help with the southern border. Dewine’s press release added the troops will be deployed to provide non-law enforcement support.
