JBSA and emergency responders worked with the San Antonio Police Department to clear the area and search for potential shooters. Trainees evacuated the area and a shelter-in-place order was put in place.
No injuries were reported and the lockdown is now lifted, but sheriffs are patrolling the area for any suspects.
“We are trying to investigate a couple of leads right now to confirm gun shots actually did take place on the installation,” Lt. Col. Brian Loveless reported. “We do have a couple leads on what occurred that we are investigating right now.”
Authorities remain unclear whether anyone saw a shooter or if more than one person was involved.
